Taking the Land
Some Christians seem to think salvation is one-dimensional and occurs only at some uncertain point in time. They’re not really sure, and they haven’t been taught how it happens; they just hope it really does. In order to present the concepts of deliverance and restoration, we need to help clear up the question of salvation. The meaning of the name, Jesus, in Greek, and, Joshua, in Hebrew, describes our Lord’s identity and destiny as Savior. It means He will save. (See Strong’s, H 3442 and G 2424) By definition, the word, salvation, has many facets. It is like a wonderfully cut gemstone. No matter how we view it, we see the glory of it reflecting the light of truth. Included in the meaning of the word are such things as deliverance, aid, victory, prosperity, health, help, and welfare. (See Strong’s H 3444)
