Classic Mâconnais with heaps of freshness and charm! Brilliant pale gold colour, expressive nose with citrus, pear and peach notes. Hints of acacia and honeysuckle, and a whisper of vanilla. Round and generous on the palate, with yellow fruit and an elegant finish. From the iconic Burgundy producer Louis Latour - they have been making wine since 1797! The village of Lugny is located high up in the south of the Mâcon region. It has a great reputation for its white wines, helping to make Mâcon famous. Lugny’s limestone soils and warm climate produces the most coveted white wines of the region, and the vineyard of "Les Genièvres" is one of its best. For this wine, the best grapes are selected from Lugny, also the first village in the region planted with Chardonnay (30 years ago) thanks to its unique terroir. The wine is fermented traditionally in stainless steel vats, temperature controlled with complete malolactic fermentation. It is then aged for 8 to 10 months again in stainless steel to retain varietal freshness. Pair with seafood or Comté cheese - or even Comté gougeres!
