Lee Miller

Brand: Innocentia Divina
SKU: INL2709

Structured. Precise. No softness where softness is not earned. A princess ballgown in satin mikado — not tulle, not organza, but the stiffest, most architectural bridal fabric. The skirt holds its own shape. It does not need the bride to fill it. Bold 3D flowers are cut from the same satin and applied to the skirt and bodice — each one flat, precise, with clean edges. Not organic. Not soft. These flowers were designed with a ruler and a blade. The neckline is square, almost straight. Small 3D floral details sit on the décolletage. The back is structured and closed. The train is cathedral-length, satin, massive when spread. A pearl-scattered veil adds the only softness — a concession, not a compromise. Lee Miller modelled for Vogue, then picked up a camera and became one of the great war photographers of the twentieth century. She photographed the liberation of Dachau. She took a bath in Hitler's apartment. Softness was never the point. Hand-crafted in Innocentia's European atelier. Satin mikado, 3D cut-out floral appliqué. Lee Miller (INL2709). Innocentia Divina — Muse collection.
