For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1959 Gibson ES-125T 3/4 scale. Gibson introduced the short-scale, thinline ES-125 as a premium alternative to the budget beginner models that had begun to flood the market during the great 1950s guitar boom. Like its full-scale brother, the student 125 featured a laminated maple top and back, mahogany sides and neck, a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and a lone dog-ear P90. This example bears factory order number S 7851, dating it to 1959. While its early years are unaccounted for, a couple purchased it secondhand in the mid-1960s for their son. Although he eventually lost interest, the family held on to the guitar and, for the next 60 years, it lived in its case. Having hardly been played, this ES-125 exhibits a vibrant sunburst finish and below-average wear for its age. There are a few isolated blemishes (most notably on the headstock), but the instrument remains crack-free, shows no repairs, and presents well overall. Save for the absent pickguard screw and a replaced endpin, it is 100% original and comes with its original chipboard case. The case is in poor shape but sturdy enough for safe shipping. Please note: because this guitar is on consignment, we cannot accept trades.
