Sargol saffron is the world's most valuable spice and also the best type of saffron. It is cultivated in Iran / the region formerly known as Persia. It takes about 150 kg of flowers to produce just 1 kg of this saffron. It is characterized by an intense red color and a better taste than its counterparts from other countries. SARGOL is the finest type of saffron because the yellow stems are trimmed, leaving only the best part of the flower's stigma. The differences in saffron types are illustrated in the graphic below:
