File prep guide (worth reading) 1) White border / outline By default, we add a clean 2–6mm white outline around your design to keep the cut neat and professional. Want a holographic edge instead? Just leave a note and we can often cut tighter depending on the artwork. 2) Transparent areas & holographic effects Any unprinted or lightly printed areas allow the holographic material underneath to shine through strongest. This creates the best rainbow shimmer effect, especially on logos, highlights, outlines and reflective elements. 3) Image quality For crisp prints: 300 DPI and ideally 1500px+ on the longest edge. Tiny screenshots from social media usually print exactly how you’d expect — soft, blurry and disappointing. If your file needs rescuing, we’ll let you know before printing. How the holographic effect works The holographic rainbow effect comes from the vinyl itself, meaning it reacts differently depending on: Lighting conditions Viewing angle Print colours used How much of the holographic material is exposed Dark, solid prints will mute the effect slightly, while lighter colours and transparent areas make the holographic finish pop harder. Worth knowing: holographic vinyl changes how colours appear slightly because the reflective base interacts with the print. That’s normal — and honestly, it’s what makes them look so good. Sticker size options Sizes are based on the longest edge of your design (height or width). Need an exact size? Choose the nearest larger option and leave a note like: “Please size to 85mm on the longest edge.” Finish options Standard — maximum shine and strongest holographic pop.
