Hāna Kū Highback Leisure Chair- Kukui Camo
Hāna Kū The term Hāna Kū refers to the back country kua’āina who continues to perpetuate generational place-based intelligence from mauka to makai. For the past nine years, this program has paired Hānaʻs holoholo practitioners with some of Hawaiiʻs most innovative chefs. The result has been magic! On one of those excursions to Hana, we were inspired to create, stimulated by its foliage and countryside. The kukui trees at Ala Kukui triggered a thought: most of Hawaiʻʻi hunters currently wear camo designed with trees and forests that don’t exist in Hawaiʻi. We then decided to fabricate a camo design that features foliage of Hawaiʻi. Influenced by the trees and forest of kukui at Ala Kukui, Brennan created this kukui camo for our local outdoorsmen. This design honors both forests and the community of Hāna! Kukui has several varieties and shapes of leaves, a symbol of light and the enlightenment of knowledge. With this kukui print layout, each leaf represents knowledge. Itʻs placement offers a pathway, representing enlightenment, creating a grove of knowledge.
