時代箪笥／庄内小箪笥　スタンド付き【Small chest with metal stand】 [j1224]　Japanese Antique Furniture

山形県庄内地方で作られた、雪輪紋の金具が印象的な小箪笥です。 雪輪紋の意匠から、大正から昭和初期頃に制作されたものと伺えます。 雪輪の意匠の中には「鶴亀」と「松竹梅」がそれぞれあしらわれ、 吉祥に満ちたデザインとなっています。 時代を経て透けた前板の漆は、吸い込みのムラ加減が欅（ケヤキ）の木目と美しく調和し、野趣あふれる味わいを感じさせます。 また、赤みを帯びた縁回りが控えめながら上品なアクセントとなり、 全体を品よく引き締めている一竿です。 A small chest featuring striking snow-ring (yukiwa) metal fittings, crafted in the Shonai region of Yamagata Prefecture. The design of the yukiwa metal fittings suggests that this chest was produced during the Taisho to early Showa period (roughly 1910s–1930s). Depicted within the snow-ring motifs are iconic auspicious symbols—a crane, a turtle, and the "Three Friends of Winter" (pine, bamboo, and plum)—making it a piece filled with wishes for good fortune and longevity. Over time, the clear lacquer on the front panels has aged beautifully; its subtle variations in absorption blend seamlessly with the grain of the zelkova wood (keyaki), creating a bold, rustic charm. Accentuated by a understated reddish border that adds a touch of elegance, this is a refined and timeless piece.
