SharpMate Upgrade Kit

The SharpMate Upgrade Kit lets you update your SharpMate with the improved blade clamp system used on the newer SharpMate setup. This upgraded clamp gives you more flexibility when sharpening wider plane blades, with support for blades up to 2 3/8" wide. It also improves blade alignment by moving the chisel alignment notch to the upper clamp bar, giving you an easier, more positive reference when setting up your edge. It’s also the key upgrade for expanding your SharpMate with compatible adapters, including adapters for short chisels, small blades, and Japanese chisels. Important: If you plan to sharpen plane blades wider than 1 7/8", we recommend using Sawinery’s 75mm wide stone for better support across the blade.
