‘Txakolina Rosado’
Hondarribi-Belza, Basque Country, Spain From the north-west of Spain with a magnetically mineral, distinctively savoury, and lightly sparkling Basque Country rosé. The Errasti family make wine in the Getariak region, where their vineyards overlook the stunning Bay of Biscay. Their proximity to the water means the clay-rich soils are often humid with grapes grown in the distinct ‘parral system’, raised high about the ground to create space for ventilation (and look very cool). The lightest pink with bright fresh herbs, smoked strawberry, Meyer lemon sorbet, baking biscuits, nori-dusted cherries & a jaunty effervescence awash in a salty, crystalline minerality. The wine is traditionally poured from high above the glass, sometimes from a porrón, a pitcher that resembles a watering can, and we challenge you to do your very best pour from above and send us a video!
