Abbey Road is proud to present this replica session sheet created during the recording of one of The Beatles’ most groundbreaking tracks, Tomorrow Never Knows. The exclusive sheet contains a detailed account of the session along with annotation of the personnel, effects, mics and equipment used in Studio Three on 6 April 1966. It is an exact replica of the original, which has been held within the Abbey Road archives for over 60 years, unseen by the public until now. This was the very first session for the landmark album Revolver, dedicated to recording a song then known only by its working title, Mark I, and later released as Tomorrow Never Knows. It was a dramatic leap forward for both The Beatles and Abbey Road engineers, including the newly appointed engineer Geoff Emerick. Together they took the group’s ever-evolving sound in a new direction, incorporating a single droning chord played on a tambura, tape loops, new recording techniques like A.D.T. (Artificial Double Tracking), a Leslie-treated lead vocal and even a loudspeaker wired in reverse acting as a ‘Magic’ microphone. Each replica is Giclée printed on 300gsm Monte Carlo textured watercolour paper, hand torn and cradled with black archival photo corners onto black card. Product measurements: Session sheet with mount: 36cm x 28cm Session sheet: 30 x 18.5cm.
