Domaine David Duband Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits Blanc 2023
Domaine David Duband Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits Blanc 2023 Domaine David Duband Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Blanc 2023 is a fresh, mineral Chardonnay from old vines on limestone and marl in the Hautes-Côtes, combining bright fruit, fine acidity, and subtle oak influence. It is an elegant, precise white Burgundy that offers real depth and character at a very accessible level. Vineyard and winemaking The grapes come from vines around 50+ years old, planted on southwest-facing slopes at 420–430 m altitude near Chevannes, on limestone bedrock with clay topsoil. Harvest is by hand, with whole-cluster pressing. Fermentation is natural, and the wine ages mostly in stainless steel with a small part in new barriques, giving subtle texture without overt oak. Tasting note Appearance: Light straw-yellow with bright reflections. Nose: Fresh yellow fruit (apple, pear, stone fruit), citrus, delicate floral notes, and subtle hints of vanilla, honey, and hazelnut. Palate: Medium-bodied, with good volume and richness, balanced by lively acidity and a clear mineral backbone. Flavors of ripe stone fruit, citrus, and light toast are framed by a fine, chalky structure. Finish: Fresh, persistent, and mineral, with lingering citrus and a clean, savory close. Style and drinking window This is a classic Hautes-Côtes white: fresh, mineral, and elegant rather than overtly rich. It is ready to drink now and should hold well through the end of the decade with proper storage. Food pairing It pairs beautifully with white fish meunière, grilled vegetables, roast chicken, and light creamy sauces. It also works well with fresh goat cheese, seafood, and simple poultry dishes where freshness and minerality can shine.
