Gillott 290 Lithographic - Hand Finished

The Gillott 290 Lithographic was described in the company's own catalogue as a Superfine Drawing Point - produced for writing on stone, and for retouching lettering on lithographic print. These particular 290s went a step further. Hold one to the light and you will see it near the tip - the bronze finish gives way to a paler band of bare steel, where the nib has been worked by hand after manufacture. The point ground back finer than it began. Each nib has been individually checked.
