Da Vinci Earth Tones

Da Vinci Earth Tone II explores the latent movement and energetic pulse hidden beneath the earth’s surface. Created through layered washes of archival inks and fluid gestural marks, the work evokes shifting mineral landscapes, sediment, erosion, and renewal. Organic looping forms move across the composition like pathways of energy or tectonic currents, while rich earth tones of ochre, clay, oxide, aubergine, charcoal, and muted greens create depth and luminosity through translucent veils of colour. Inspired by both the geometry of Da Vinci’s studies and the raw force of nature, the work balances structure with fluidity — inviting the viewer to immerse themselves within its evolving terrain. Designed to be hung in either portrait or landscape orientation, the artwork transforms with its environment, offering multiple interpretations of the earth’s hidden life force.
