Set within a clean straight bezel, the stone is surrounded by windswept silver swirls, twisted wire detailing, and a hummingbird accent—bringing movement and dimension to the composition through disciplined bench work. Measuring approximately 2.25 inches, this artisan sterling silver pendant has a substantial presence while maintaining the organic balance characteristic of Sterling Roots metalwork. Form & Wearability The oval green flash Labradorite anchors the pendant, revealing shifting color as it moves through changing light. Windswept sterling silver swirls travel along the lower edge and continue across the top, where the silverwork transitions into part of the bail. Decorative twisted wire embellishment adds another layer of texture around the setting, while a hummingbird positioned along the upper edge introduces a distinct natural form within the flowing design. Material & Studio Practice This handcrafted silver pendant is built individually within our Adirondack jewelry studio using traditional silversmithing tools and hands-on fabrication techniques. The oval Labradorite is fitted within a straight bezel before the twisted wire, hummingbird, and flowing silver elements are formed and integrated around the stone. The upper swirl serves both the composition and the structure of the pendant by continuing upward to become part of the bail. The finished silver is oxidized to settle into the twists, contours, and recessed details, emphasizing the dimensional metalwork while allowing the green flash of the Labradorite to remain the focal point.
