The core is functional and suitable for controlled picking practice, as well as study and display. Pick gently. As with any cutaway lock, light tension is recommended to preserve the lock and maintain proper operation. Jordan the Locksmith is a full-time locksmith and custom cutaway maker. He has been picking locks since around 2010 and has worked professionally as a locksmith since 2017. Jordan began making cutaways in 2019 as a way to better understand lock mechanics and improve his own picking, starting with simple hand tools before moving into more precise mill work.
