Circa 1820, a most lovely and much sought after half hoop style ring set with five luminous hand fished (as they all were back two centuries ago) natural Oyster Pearls. The whole was skilfully hand crafted in every aspect and the feel is smoothed with age. Such a delight to hold! The profile is particularly beautiful as the half moons of the lustrous lovelies graduate beautifully finely in size; a simple aspect which must've take such care to achieve... along with the hand filed ribbed edging to each... A piece which must once have held emotion and conveyed fondness, this feeling is still potent and one to carry forward with appreciation for our humanity and capacity to love. Stones: halved natural Sea Oyster Pearls Metal: 18ct yellow Gold, tested but unmarked as was the custom at the time. Ring Size: P or 7.5 as is but suitable to alter by a few sizes for fit.
