Betel nut husks or betel nut pods are the outer layer of the fruit of the Areca catechu palm. The husks are very fibrous and durable, and they can last months in an aquarium or bioactive enclosure. They are primarily found across tropical Asia. Betel nut pods are eco friendly and great addition to natural bioactive enclosures and freshwater aquariums. Fish, shrimp, and snails benefit from betel nut husks. These are also a great addition to isopod bins, springtail cultures, and reptile habitats. Microfauna such as isopods and springtails enjoy colonizing these fibrous botanicals.
