SEA DRIFT (Original)

A tall, atmospheric composition in which layers of sea, shoreline and distant land appear to drift through one another. Deep marine blues and turquoise tones are interrupted by dark, gestural marks and warmer flashes of ochre, suggesting rock, sand and reflected coastal light. The portrait format gives the work an unusual sense of depth, drawing the eye from the open water through the textured shoreline and into the softer colour below.
