Eight Arms, Two Ways to Mount It The Molecule 8 gathers eight glass hemispheres on brass rods radiating from a central plate, built flush enough to sit close against a ceiling or a wall. It works as a semi flush ceiling light in a room with lower ceilings, or as a large scale wall sconce where a single statement piece is wanted instead of a run of smaller ones. In Frosted Glass In frosted glass, each of the eight hemispheres becomes a soft disc of even light rather than a bright point, and the bulbs behind the glass stay hidden. Mounted flush, that diffusion matters more than usual, since the glass is often viewed close up and side on, and frosted glass avoids any harsh glare from an angle that a clearer glass wouldn't hide as well.
