Beauchamp, Dyed To Order
Beauchamp is inspired by the seaweed found all along Maine's coast! The seaweed that you mostly see an abundance of on Maine's beaches is called "Bladderwack" but I really could not handle that as a yarn name so instead I decided to name this yarn after one of my all time favorite stops in Midcoast Maine, Beauchamp Point located in downtown Rockport, Maine. To create the colorway I dyed it all over with a soft silver grey, then I created my own grey brown using orange and plum which I poured over the yarn- creating lots of layers of color. I then poured over a second mixture of more silver grey with a bit of Navy blue to really capture the darkest parks of the seaweed. To finished I speckle orange, plum, and turquoise on one side and bronze on the other. This colorway is gorgeous on its own as you can see in the swatch photos or would pair well with Shadow, Latte, Rebel, Gourd, Set In Stone, Diadem, Robin's Egg, Dahlia, Harvest, or Always A Bridesmaid. Beauchamp is available on Nimble Sock, Plush Single, Plush DK, and Plush Bulky. Please use the drop down menu to choose the base that you would like to order. Superwash yarn is technically machine washable in a gentle cycle with like colors, I do however recommend hand washing your knits made with superwash yarn as the washer will tug and pull at your knits causing them to lose their shape or worse rip. I was my knits in the sink using luke warm water and Long Winter Farm Sweater Soap. This soap has lanolin in it which protects the natural fibers. I spot wash any stains and allow my sweater to soak for approximately 30 minutes. Rinse your sweater with cool water if necessary and them gently wring out any extra water, I use my top load washer spin cycle this this, but you can use a towel as well. After the excess water is removed, lay your garment flat to air dry. This fiber was handdyed by ontheround using professional quality acid dyes. I dye my yarn in small batches and no skein will be 100% the same- that's what makes working with hand dyed yarn so fun! I do my very best to accurately photograph my yarns but please note that not all monitors are the same. My yarn is made in my smoke-free, pet free studio in Rockland Maine.
