This sterling silver flourish pendant necklace features an elegant flowing hand-sawn design centred with a deep red garnet gemstone. Originally created around 2011, the graceful pendant remained part of Simone's jewellery collection for several years before eventually being retired. This handmade silver necklace with garnet gemstone is one of those designs Simone always particularly loved. In fact, the flowing flourish motif has inspired a newly reimagined version for her upcoming jewellery collection, making this From the Archives piece the original design from which the new interpretation grew. The pendant itself is formed from a single continuous flourish shape hand-sawn in sterling silver by Simone. Rather than depicting a flower or recognisable symbol, the design is more calligraphic in nature - a flowing symmetrical line drawing in silver with a soft sense of movement and balance. Nestled where the two curves meet sits a natural garnet cabochon gemstone in a serrated sterling silver setting. The garnet has a rich deep red colouring with warm burgundy undertones that contrast beautifully against the bright polished silver. The placement of the gemstone at the centre of the flourish gives the pendant a sense of visual balance, while the sweeping curves keep the design feeling light, elegant and organic. The pendant has been given a bright polished finish and is suspended from a delicate sterling silver chain adjustable from 45cm to 55cm in length. Although eye-catching, the necklace remains very wearable thanks to the open hand-sawn construction and softly curved form. It works beautifully with both casual and dressier outfits and layers particularly well with shorter or longer silver chains.
