Free Weave Open Studio - Floor Loom Class Date: Saturday November 7 12-2pm and 2:30-4:30pm Location: 2313 Beatrice Street #100 Instructor: Dallas Weaving Co. (Emily Robinson-Sogan and Emily Schmidt) Explore weaving cloth on a floor loom with Free Weave Open Studio! In this beginner friendly workshop the looms will be prepped with a multicolor warp and ready to weave. We will explore weaving with different structures and colors to create your own design, or follow a pre-designed pattern. The class will begin by looking at woven samples and creating a plan to weave. We will be there to help you wind yarn onto the shuttle, and guide you during the weaving process. At the end of the studio time you will get to cut off your work and take it home. How large your final product is depends on how much you weave! Yarn colors will vary based on availability. We recommend wearing soft-soled shoes or socks to weave in. Emily R. and Emily S. met while working as textile designers in Dallas.
