A medium-scale round garden table in fer forgé, French, late 20th century, finished in a weathered white patina. The pierced iron top is bordered by a rope-twist rim above a continuous apron of S-scrolls and roundels. Four sinuous, cabriole-like legs terminate in rolled scroll feet and are braced by an X-form rope-twist stretcher with a small central knop. The design draws on Belle Époque and Rococo Revival jardin furniture, where lively scrollwork and twisted bars showcased the savoir-faire of the ferronnier. Openwork tops were favored for terraces and cafés as they shed rain easily and kept a light visual presence. Produced in France in the later 20th century, this example continues the 19th-century tradition of decorative wrought iron, combining durability with romantic ornament suited to French jardins and balcons. Perfect for a terrace, garden, or conservatory, it pairs well with bistro or wrought iron chairs and a simple linen cloth. Indoors, it serves as a breakfast or sunroom table, or as a graceful center table in an entry with a zinc cachepot or stone urn. Its timeworn character adds gentle texture to crisp contemporary settings and complements Provençal, cottage, or Parisian-inspired interiors. Note, one petal is missing from underneath - refer to photos. Condition and patina consistent with age. Approx. overall 29¼" high x 45" diameter Approx. overall 74cm high x 114cm diameter
