YOUNG BOYS - HOME SHIRT 2023/2024BSC Young Boys were founded in 1898 and are the pride of Bern, the Swiss capital. Known simply as YB, they play at the Stadion Wankdorf, a ground that carries one of the great stories in football history: the old stadium on this site staged the 1954 World Cup final, the "Miracle of Bern", where West Germany came from two goals down to beat the mighty Hungary of Puskas. The current arena, awash with the club's famous yellow, keeps that heritage alive.The 2023/2024 season, during which this iconic home shirt was worn, was YB's 126th and their 23rd in a row in the Swiss Super League. Under Raphael Wicky they were crowned champions once again, retaining the title they had won the previous year. It was a commanding campaign: 74 points from 37 matches, 22 wins, and 73 goals scored, comfortably clear at the summit of Swiss football.There was a European adventure to savour too. YB reached the Champions League group stage and shared a section with Manchester City, RB Leipzig and Red Star Belgrade, before dropping into the Europa League knockout play-off round, where they pushed Sporting Lisbon and a rampant Viktor Gyokeres close before bowing out.Cedric Itten led the way in front of goal with 13 across all competitions, while Joel Monteiro topped the league scoring charts with 12 and chipped in with big moments all season.
