Yes. For a new freshwater aquarium, Seachem Prime + Stability can be used together. They do different jobs: Prime → removes chlorine/chloramine and detoxifies certain ammonia/nitrite compounds in tap water. Stability → adds beneficial bacteria to help establish the biological filter/cycle. 🐟 New tank setup — recommended procedure Day 1 Fill the tank with tap water. Add Seachem Prime at the dose for the full volume of the tank. Standard dose: 5 mL per 200 L (50 US gal). If your tank is 100 L → about 2.5 mL Prime. Start the filter and air pump. Make sure the filter media is already installed. Add Seachem Stability: Day 1: 5 mL per 40 L (10 US gal). You can add Stability directly into the aquarium or near the filter intake/media. Days 2–7 Add Stability once per day: 5 mL per 40 L per day Keep the filter running 24/7. You don’t need to add Prime every day unless you’re adding new tap water or you have a specific ammonia/nitrite situation. 🧪 Very important: don’t add fish immediately For a fishless cycle, I would do: Day 1: Prime + Stability + ammonia source Days 2–7: Stability daily After that: Continue monitoring ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. The tank is biologically ready when ammonia and nitrite can be processed to essentially zero after adding an appropriate ammonia source. If you’re planning to put fish/shrimp in immediately, that’s a different procedure—you’ll want to be much more conservative because Stability doesn’t instantly create a mature biofilter. 💡 One important point Prime does NOT “cycle” the tank. It treats the water; Stability is the bacterial product intended to help establish the biofilter. Your actual biological cycle still needs time and an ammonia source.
