Naturally warm, soft, and beautifully resilient, our Climate Beneficial™ Wool Batting is made from 100% Northern California wool grown at Ferndale Farms in Humboldt County. Carded for both loft and smoothness, this natural wool batting is ideal for quilting, comforters, pillows, felting, upholstery, and other fiber arts and home projects. Sold in 5 lbs and 3 oz bags, in naturally cream-colored sheets approximately 1.5–2 inches thick, the wool has a soft, springy loft that provides excellent warmth and insulation without synthetic fibers. Naturally Grown Northern California Wool This wool comes from well-tended sheep raised on pasture at Ferndale Farms in Ferndale, California. The farm has practiced rotational livestock management as part of its land stewardship for generations, supporting healthy soils, wildlife habitat, and a strong regional fiber economy. The wool is minimally processed using only biodegradable detergent and water, with no harsh chemical treatments, dyes, or bleaches. Because it remains close to its natural state, a small amount of vegetable matter may occasionally be present. This is a natural characteristic of minimally processed wool from sheep raised on real pasture.
