In Spring, the branches are lined with beautiful white lacecap-style flower clusters, creating a spectacular layered display. As the flowers fade, the strongly structured framework remains, giving this variety plenty of garden interest beyond its flowering season. Similar to the popular 'Mariesii', 'Lanarth' has the characteristic tiered form of Viburnum plicatum, but develops a particularly pronounced horizontal habit, giving it a more open and architectural character. It makes an excellent feature shrub where there is room for its graceful branches to spread. Best grown in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade, with protection from harsh afternoon heat. Grows to approximately 2–3m high × 2–3m wide.
