Melina Duterte, better known as Jay Som, produced it, and the pairing pulls Hatchie's dream pop away from gauze and toward something sharper and more direct. The record takes its name from the candy for a reason: sweet, salty and bitter at once, it traces longing and obsession through the long work of figuring out who you are.Pilbeam has described it as the culmination of everything she wanted this project to be, written under the influence of her favorite tragic romance films.
