Aluminum has noticeably higher resistance than copper, so a CCA cable of the same gauge drops more voltage and runs hotter at the same current. Every conductor in this Divini kit is 100% oxygen-free copper, so the gauge on the label carries the current that gauge is supposed to carry, and your amplifier sees the voltage it was designed for. Is This the Right Kit for Your Amplifier? Best fit: Two-amplifier systems, such as a monoblock for the subwoofers plus a four channel for the speakers, fed from a single 1/0 gauge run. Rule of thumb: 8 gauge for amplifiers up to about 500 watts RMS, 4 gauge up to about 1,000 watts RMS, and 1/0 gauge above that. Long runs or big current draws push you up a size. If your amplifier's own fuses add up to more than this kit's 300A ANL fuse, step up to a heavier kit. Install Notes Mount the ANL holder and its 300A fuse within 18 inches of the battery positive, then run the 1/0 gauge main power line to the mini ANL distribution block near your amplifiers. From the block, the two 150A fused outputs feed each amplifier with the 4 gauge secondary wire.
