Gang Starr - ‘Daily Operation’ Press Kit Photo and Cassette

Gang Starr’s Daily Operation, released on Chrysalis in May 1992, was the third album from DJ Premier and Guru. This lot pairs two pieces from the album’s promotional campaign: an official press photo that passed through a newspaper library, and a promo-only snippets cassette.The black-and-white press photo shows Guru and DJ Premier, with the © 1992 EMI Records Group editorial-use credit along the margin. The front is marked in red pen, with a circle around the Gang Starr logo and the note “rap music.” The back carries a Houston Chronicle Library stamp dated Tuesday, May 26, 1992, and a small “mex 835” file label.The cassette is the Daily Operation Snippets promo from Chrysalis and EMI Records Group, marked “Promo Only” on both sides of the shell and “Not for Sale” on the insert. A note on the J-card explains that it holds only excerpts of songs from the album, to prevent bootlegging.
