The PRISM & CARTRIDGE Plug-In Bundle (VST3, AU, AAX)
Two plug-ins, one low bundle price. One gives your drums character. The other gives them somewhere to go. CARTRIDGE and PRISM were made to sit side by side in the same insert chain, and between them they cover the two things a drum track needs most. CARTRIDGE decides what your kit is made of, running it through the sound chips of four generations of game consoles, from a 4-bit handheld to a 32-bit CD-ROM machine. PRISM decides where it lives, splitting the kit into four bands like light through glass so you can widen the cymbals, throw echoes off the snare's crack and send each color into its own space while the kick stays locked dead center. Crush first, then split: the grit lands exactly where you want it, the low end never moves, and a dry, close-miked kit suddenly has a sound of its own and a place to sit in the mix. Two zero-latency effects, 500 presets between them, one price. Put CARTRIDGE on the drum bus with PRISM right after it. Turn up DISPERSION and the crunch fans out across the Body, Crack and Air bands while the Sub band stays mono, so the kit can sound completely blown out without the kick drifting an inch. The room you didn't have. Tracking in a small, dead room? Start CARTRIDGE on a Polish, Texture or Weight preset, which keep the drums clean and build character around them, then use PRISM's shared room and per-band width to give the kit the size and air your space couldn't. Echoes that fall apart as they fly. CARTRIDGE's echo drops a generation with every repeat. Run it into PRISM and DISPERSION spreads those decaying repeats across the stereo field by frequency, so the crunchy top end flies wide while the body of each repeat stays close to center. Snares and hats nobody else has. Load CARTRIDGE's Snare Design or Hat Design folders on a single track for square-wave fuzz and a noise channel keyed from your own playing, then add PRISM's REFRACT to turn every hit into a spectral flam. Built for drummers recording their own tracks You already did the hard part: you played it. These two are about getting the recording to sound the way the performance felt. Both run at zero latency, so they're safe to monitor through while you track. Both work on whatever you've got, whether that's a live kit, a loop or a programmed pattern. And both start from level-matched presets, so you can step through them on your own drums and hear real differences in sound rather than loudness. Find a pair you like in a couple of minutes, then open the hood when you want to go further. PRISM: split your drums like light Four bands: Sub, Body, Crack and Air, with phase-matched crossovers you drag right on the live spectrum. A full chain on every band: Glow saturation (Warm, Tape or Fold), Punch, a tempo-synced Echo and a send to one shared room. DISPERSION spreads the bands across the stereo field while the Sub stays mono. REFRACT delays each band a touch more than the one below, up to 24 ms, for a spectral flam. 200 presets in ten categories, from Polish and Wide to Dub, Spectral Flam and Lo-Fi. Swap carts and bit depth, sample rate, filtering and quirks all change with it. CRUNCH takes it past the console's native spec, down to 2 bits and three octaves below its sample rate. Chip and Noise add square-wave fuzz and an LFSR noise channel keyed from your hats or snare, both crushed right along with the drums. A drivable DAC with Soft, Hard and Wrap clipping, plus Bad contacts for flipped bits and dropouts. 300 presets in twelve folders, and more than half of them leave the drums clean and build layers around them. PRISM and CARTRIDGE are both included. Just sign in inside each plug-in, then put a session drummer's real performance through a 16-bit console and split it into light. FAQ Can I try them first? Yes, and there's no clock on it. Both free downloads below are the complete plug-ins, every preset included. The output mutes briefly every 45 seconds until you activate. Which order should I use them in? Either works. CARTRIDGE into PRISM is the easiest starting point, since PRISM then places the crushed sound in the stereo field. Flip them and CARTRIDGE crushes PRISM's echoes and room along with the kit. Are these sample packs? No. Both are effects that work on the drums you already have. Will they mess up my low end? No. PRISM's Sub band is always mono, and more than half of CARTRIDGE's presets leave the drums clean. Can I record through them? Yes. Both run at zero latency.
