Mini Stained Glass Star Ornament

This multi-pointed stained glass star touches on two unique and beloved holiday traditions that span Europe and the Americas. Its faceted shape echoes the Moravian star, originally displayed during Advent in Moravian Christian communities in Germany, and now a symbol of love and hope in many other faiths and secular traditions around the world. In Mexico, it evokes the piñatas that are a beloved part of Las Posadas, parties and processions that lead up to Christmas Day. These stained glass stars are handmade in Mexico using glass from the 120-year-old Wismach Glass Co. in West Virginia. Fifth-generation stained glass artisans cut, assemble, and solder each one by hand. Hang it by the loop to catch the light in a window, set it among candles to catch the light, or add some handcrafted history to your Christmas tree.
