Vintage Color Haori - Lustrous gold -

The charm of this haori is its color. A soft, noble gold reminiscent of champagne. Combined with the texture of rinzu silk, it is beautifully lustrous and mesmerizing. The lattice and kikko (tortoiseshell) patterns are elegant. Kikkō (亀甲) literally means “tortoiseshell.” It is a traditional Japanese geometric motif based on the hexagonal shape of a tortoise shell. Because the tortoise has long been associated with longevity in Japan, the Kikkō motif represents longevity, good fortune, and protection from evil or misfortune. Overall, it is in beautiful condition, but upon closer inspection, you may notice some water marks and brown stains. If you are very particular about condition, I recommend not purchasing this piece. It can also make a beautiful gift, especially for someone who appreciates not only the beauty of vintage kimono, but also the history that comes with it.
