BMW G-Series Parking Brake Switch Repair Kit – 2 Microswitches

Damaged internal microswitches can cause intermittent or persistent failure when you press the button, pull it, or operate it in both directions. This two-switch kit repairs the matching switches inside selected BMW G-series centre-console control panels once an internal switch fault has been confirmed. Included: 2 PCB-mounted microswitches. Not included: centre console, circuit board (PCB), gear selector, external parking-brake button/rocker, plastic slider, tools or installation. Soldering required. This is not a plug-in switch assembly. What you will replace The parking-brake button operates small switches mounted on the circuit board underneath it. If those internal switches are damaged, the console may not reliably register a press or pull. The kit supplies the two replacement microswitches; you reuse your existing compatible button, board and console. See the image guide for the relationship between the button, PCB and internal switches. Typical symptoms The parking-brake button sometimes works, then fails again. Pressing, pulling, or both directions respond unreliably or stop registering altogether. Inspection and testing confirm damage or failure of the matching internal microswitches. Replacing failed microswitches can restore reliable button input when those switches are the cause. Symptoms alone do not confirm the diagnosis: this kit does not repair a broken outer button or slider, liquid damage, wiring or software faults, brake motors or calipers. Fault codes and diagnosis A stored fault code is not guaranteed. Have a technician check the parking-brake button's live input states with BMW-compatible diagnostics such as ISTA: at rest, pulled and pressed. An input that fails to change reliably needs further investigation. Confirm damage or failure of the internal microswitches before ordering; a warning message or fault code alone does not prove that this kit is the correct repair. Check compatibility before ordering For selected BMW G-series / Gxx centre-console panels using the pictured internal-switch design. Not a universal fit for every G-series console. Compare your original switch body, actuator, solder-terminal layout, PCB footprint and circuit arrangement with the supplied design. A chassis code, model year or similar-looking console alone does not confirm compatibility. If unsure, send us clear photos of your console, circuit board and original switches before ordering. Installation and safety Remove and dismantle the console to access the PCB, then desolder and replace the matching internal switches. Suitable electronics rework equipment and experience are needed. Have a qualified automotive electronics technician diagnose the fault and perform the repair, following the vehicle manufacturer's service and battery-isolation procedures and the component's soldering limits. This is a safety-related control. Before returning the vehicle to use, verify reliable button inputs in both directions and correct parking-brake application and release according to the vehicle service procedure.
