Original vintage General Post Office advertising poster - 4d Minimum Foreign Letter Postage - featuring a fantastic Constructivist design by the notable artist Imre Hofbauer (1905-1989) depicting a traditional British red postbox marked Abroad pointing like a pin to Great Britain in the centre of a globe with an illustration of a hand holding up four fingers behind it, the Art Deco style lettering diagonally below with the text above the map - The Commonwealth rate of 2½d applies to the Commonwealth generally and to certain countries including U.S.A. - the GPO logo in the bottom left corner. Horizontal. Good condition, restored tears, small restored paper loss in top right corner, staining, backed on linen.
