The Victron Busbar is a high current DC distribution point: one common connection for your batteries and DC equipment instead of a stack of ring terminals fighting for space on a battery post. Three variants cover most 12V and 24V builds - 150A with four posts, 150A with six posts, and 250A with four posts. Every model ships with a protective cover, and the bar is tin-plated copper on all three. Positives to one bar, negatives to another, one heavy cable back to each battery terminal. It is not a fused distribution block and it does not protect anything - it joins conductors. Overcurrent protection stays at the source. Which busbar do I need? What is the maximum current that will actually flow through the bar? Not the sum of every fuse in the van - the real peak through that one bar. Size to it, then pick 150A or 250A. How many connections do you need, including the ones you have not thought of yet? People count today's cables, buy the four post, then add a solar controller later and end up double-stacking lugs. If you are near the limit, take the 150A six post. Stud sizes are imperial 150A models: 1/4 inch stud (6.35 mm) 250A model: 5/16 inch stud (8 mm) Pick ring lugs to suit the stud size above, and use the supplied nuts. Key features Tin-plated copper bar, cross section sized to the current rating Protective cover included with every model 70 VDC maximum Choice of post count at 150A - four or six posts, same stud and materials Flame-retardant base - ABS to UL 94 V-0 Mounting it Torque differs by model: 150A models 7 Nm, 250A model 13 Nm. Under-torqued joints do not fail loudly, they heat up. Use a torque wrench. Cover access: the 150A models have a clear polycarbonate cover so you can inspect the terminals without touching them. The 250A cover is opaque ABS and has to come off to look. Cable size: Victron specify stud size and current rating, not a maximum cable cross-section. Size cable to the current and run length, then pick a lug to suit the stud. Voltage ceiling: 70 VDC maximum - check your peak charge voltage, not nominal.
