Loafing Ledge

Before my residency in Maine, I was an avid fan of the Puffin Cam and Loafing Ledge Cam (available on explore.org) - Loafing Ledge is a live cam on Seal Island off the coast of Maine where many seabirds hang out... or dare I say.. loaf? This piece is a nod to the live cam and the seabird activity we get to witness on the ledge! Maine Scenes are inspired by my 2026 Artist Residency at the Audubon Seabird Institute's Hog Island Camp. During this residency, I made miniature sculptures inspired by the animals and ecosystems around me in coastal Maine. This piece is hand sculpted and painted - made with intention and love. Porcelain with underglaze, wire, glossy glaze.
