Hide and Seek

Colored Pencil Collage Drawing on Wood Panel 40" x 60" x 5" | 102 × 152 × 13 cm - A flowing green dress gives way to a dense garden of sculptural flowers in Federico Uribe’s Hide and Seek, where a climbing animal emerges from the foliage and extends beyond the white frame. Carefully cut colored pencils become petals, stems, and textured fur, bringing physical depth to the drawn figure behind them. Uribe uses pencils as both drawing tools and sculptural material, connecting the figure’s layered color and shading with the dimensional forms in the foreground.
