Pierre Girardin Meursault Le Limozin 2024 750ml
Le Limozin sits directly above Les Genevrières on the upper reaches of the Meursault slope, close enough to the premier cru band to borrow some of its class while keeping the freshness that comes with height. It is one of the village sites that consistently punches above its classification, and growers tend to treat it as a premier cru in all but name.Aromas of white peach, lemon zest and acacia blossom lead, with hazelnut and a light struck-flint note behind. The palate has genuine breadth without heaviness, a creamy mid-palate wrapped around a firm mineral core, and a long finish that turns dry and gently nutty.Pierre Girardin founded his estate in Meursault in 2016 at an age when most winemakers are still studying. The thirteenth generation of a Burgundian family and the son of Vincent Girardin, he learned in his father's cellar and inherited some of the family's finest parcels. His wines are fermented with native yeasts and raised in large 456 litre barrels, and he has been steadily moving the vineyards towards organic farming.Vintages may vary.
