Vieux Chateau Bayard 2024 - 7 bottle case offer
Tasting Note Soft, raspberry and freshly picked blackberries with a little bit of their leaves thrown into the mix. A cocoa element, juicy cherries and with a really soft tannin. There are sweeter spices, a sprinkle of black pepper and then a long, smooth finish with more cocoa. Put this with a casserole or something with lots of mushrooms in it. Producer Vieux Château Bayard has been in the same family for eight generations and always run by women. Marie-Laure Latorre is the latest family member to run the property, returning home in 2011 after many different roles in the wine trade. There are eight hectares, mainly planted to Merlot with 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines have wonderful brightness and freshness, delivered by early picking. 50% of the blend is aged in (old) oak and the remainder aged in concrete tank. Country: France | Region: Montagne St Emilion, Bordeaux | Alcohol: 13% | Grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon | Vegetarian | Vegan | Family Producer | Female Winemaker
