Antique crochet lace blouse

Antique blouse A lace blouse generously trimmed with crochet lace. At the time, this type of top would have been worn with a long skirt. Truly elegant. It seems likely that this was originally a broadcloth lace blouse with a different type of lace, later altered to feature the luxurious crochet lace it has today. The volume around the neckline is particularly impressive. All the fastenings at the front closure are missing. Judging by the small size of the loops, it seems they were originally hook-style fastenings rather than buttons. There are no large tears, but there is some wear such as light staining — which is only natural, as this antique piece has survived from a much earlier era and was clearly cherished over time. Please refer to all the photos for details. The staining may be further improved with additional cleaning and care. A rare find in this condition. Also suitable for collectors.
