Taste a guided selection of Clos Henri wines and connect each glass with its place of origin. Plant a New Zealand native selected for the estate's restoration programme The context: Native restoration in a working vineyard Since 2019, Clos Henri has planted more than 12,000 native plants in and around the estate. The programme includes species such as mānuka, kānuka, kōwhai, tōtara, ribbonwood, kahikatea and cabbage trees, chosen to suit different soils and planting sites. This work helps rehabilitate native bush and wetland areas among the vineyard blocks, while also creating a habitat for native birds, insects and other beneficial wildlife. Your planting becomes part of that continuing project. Wine crafted from living soils: how we express our unique terroir Clos Henri has been fully certified organic since the 2013 harvest and is BioGro organic certified. We manage the vineyard without chemical herbicides or pesticides, recycle grape marc and cardboard into compost, and spread that compost through the vineyard to support soil life. The tasting brings these practices back to the glass. Your host will guide you through a selection of Clos Henri wines and explain how vineyard soils, organic farming and Marlborough's climate influence Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
