E-40 - Turning My Money Over (Gold Color) Vinyl LP

Four records deep and E-40 still sounds like he has somewhere to be. The Vallejo rapper has been building his own vocabulary since the eighties, and a quadruple album is exactly the format his restlessness calls for: room to stretch out, switch cadences mid verse, and let the Bay Area slang pile up. The production stays funk-forward and bass-heavy throughout, built for cars rather than headphones. Pressed across four gold records. A lot of rappers would pad a set this long. He does not. Street date: November 20.
