Black ball probe

The Black Body Temperature Probe is designed to measure the effective ambient temperature of an environment by utilising the principles of a black body radiation. By absorbing radiant energy from its surroundings, the probe provides a more representative indication of environmental temperature than a conventional air temperature sensor. Type K thermocouple sensor. Copper sphere, approximately 50 mm diameter. Matt black exterior coating to simulate black body characteristics and maximise radiant heat absorption. Bright copper interior surface to minimise internal radiation losses. Suitable for measuring combined effects of air temperature and radiant heat. Ideal for oven monitoring, environmental temperature measurement, and process applications. Robust construction for industrial environments. 2 metre glass fibre insulated cable with stainless steel over braided lead. Fitted with miniature Type K thermocouple connector.
