Cantina Orsogna Vola Volé Maiella National Park – Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is the flagship red of the region, and this is a proud, classic example. It comes from Cantina Orsogna’s Maiella National Park range, made by a cooperative of growers who have farmed organically for decades. The wine is certified organic, Biodiversity Friend and Bear Friendly, a nod to the brown bears that still roam the Maiella National Park. It pours an intense, deep ruby, almost impenetrable. The aroma is dense and ripe, with the typical Montepulciano note of cherry and a varied, complex bouquet. The palate follows with depth and character. It’s a red with presence, but never heavy. Fermented using the surrounding biodiversity of the Maiella, it’s a wine with a strong sense of place. Generous, characterful and kind to the land that made it, it’s an Abruzzo classic.
