Finnish Art Deco Brass, Wood & Frosted Glass Chandelier, 1930s

Original Finnish Art Deco ceiling light from the 1930s, combining dark patinated brass, warm-toned wood and three geometric frosted glass shades. The three curved brass arms extend from a faceted wooden centre, finished with decorative cast details. A textile-wrapped suspension with an original-style tassel adds another characteristic period detail. The light reflects the decorative side of Nordic Art Deco during the interwar period. Its combination of contrasting wood and metal, stylised botanical details and angular glass shades brings together geometric Art Deco forms with warmer natural materials. The manufacturer and designer are currently unknown. A characterful original light that works particularly well above a dining table or as a central ceiling fixture.
