These adapters must be torqued to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications and installed using thread locker where required. If you are not experienced with wheel adapters, professional installation is highly recommended. IMPORTANT – Vehicle Stud Trimming Required: When installing the 1.5" or 2" adapters, the factory vehicle studs may need to be shortened. The vehicle studs must not extend past the surface of the first (bottom) adapter plate. 1.5" Adapter: The first (bottom) plate is approximately 0.75" thick. The vehicle studs must not extend more than approximately 0.70" from the mounting surface. 2" Adapter: The first (bottom) plate is approximately 1.25" thick. The vehicle studs must not extend more than approximately 1.20" from the mounting surface. Always verify stud clearance before installing the second plate. If any vehicle stud extends past the first plate, it must be properly shortened so the second plate can sit completely flush against the first plate. Do not install or operate the vehicle if the second plate does not sit completely flush against the first plate. Improper clearance can prevent the two adapter plates from seating correctly and may cause the mounting hardware to loosen, which can result in wheel separation, loss of vehicle control, serious injury, or property damage.
