Darwin Finches T-Shirt
The Darwin Finches, birds residing on the islands of the Galapagos, are distinguished by different beak shapes depending on their food sources and habitats. Careful analysis of finch specimens collected while onboard the H.M.S. Beagle led Charles Darwin to conclude that several finch species evolved from a progenitor species. Evolution of beak shape allowed the new species to exploit new foods and environments. The species depicted on this mug, printed from an original Ontogenie graphite painting inspired by John Gould's famous illustration, are Geospiza magnirostis, Geospiza fortis, Geospiza fortula, and Certhida olivacea. This t-shirt would make a special gift for a bird lover, scientist, or a fan of evolution. This t-shirt is soft and lightweight, with the right amount of stretch.
