Built around the exact same core circuit as the acclaimed Life Pedal V3, the HalfLife combines distortion, analog octave-up, and boost into a streamlined package that loses none of the crushing power of its larger predecessor. Designed to capture the massive front-end tones used by Sunn O))) during the recording of Life Metal, the HalfLife delivers everything from dense walls of distortion to soaring octave-infused fuzz textures, all with the flexibility modern players demand. Massive Distortion with Three Clipping Voices At the heart of the HalfLife is the Amplitude distortion circuit, inspired by the classic "White Face" op-amp distortion design. A three-position clipping switch allows you to tailor the pedal's response to your rig and playing style. Choose between the raw, uncompressed aggression of the OpAmp mode, the smoother and more amp-like response of the Asymmetrical clipping mode, or the familiar crunch of the traditional Symmetrical silicon diode configuration. With up to 60 dB of gain on tap, the HalfLife easily covers everything from heavy distortion to devastating saturation. Blendable Analog Octave-Up The HalfLife's analog octave-up circuit sits at the front of the signal path, allowing you to blend in as much octave effect as desired with the dedicated Octave control. Subtle settings add harmonic complexity and cut, while higher settings transform the pedal into a rich octave fuzz capable of producing the complex, chaotic textures that have become a hallmark of the Sunn O))) sound. For even greater control, the octave blend can be manipulated in real time using an expression pedal, making dramatic octave swells and evolving textures easy to create on the fly. Independent Boost for Maximum Impact Completing the signal chain is a powerful independent boost section positioned after the distortion and octave circuits. Whether used to increase volume for solos, push an amplifier harder, or add extra intensity to an already saturated tone, the boost can be activated independently via its own footswitch for maximum flexibility.
